Darren Poon

Darren graduated from The University of Melbourne in 2005 and completed his Masters of Sports Physiotherapy in 2017 from Latrobe University. He has a strong interest in lower limb injuries in athletes, in particular hockey players.
Darren is the Head Physiotherapist for the Glenorchy District Senior Men’s Football Team, Hutchins School First XVIII and is the Physiotherapist for the Tasmanian Youth Classical Ballet Company, Felicity Ryan Ballet and Hobart Dance Academy. He has previously held Head Physiotherapist positions with Hockey Australia Masters, Old Hobartian’s Hockey Club and the Hobart Telstra Chargers Basketball. Through his hockey work Darren has travelled to Spain, Singapore, New Zealand & Netherlands for international tournaments. Darren enjoys rehabilitating athletes using a combination of manual techniques, dry needling, Pilates and strength training.

Dave Cusick

Dave graduated from the University of Sydney in 2011 and returned home to join Tas Sports Physio team in early 2012.
From early days, Dave’s passion for sport led to a degree in Human Movement in which he specialised in sport and exercise science. He then went on to Sydney to study Physiotherapy as his interests veered toward injury management and rehabilitation.
Dave’s sporting interests are cricket and in particular Australian Rules Football which he has been lucky enough to play in numerous representative sides including Tasmanian State U/18s and the Sydney Football league Rep Team. Dave currently captains the Dodges Ferry Football Club and the Nugent Cricket Team.

Jamie Scott

Jamie completed his Masters of Physiotherapy at the University of Sydney in 2012 after completing a Bachelor of Human Movement in 2009 at the University of Tasmania.
Jamie has been sharing his passion for injury assessment, rehabilitation and prevention since returning home in 2012 to begin working in the greater Hobart and Sorell areas.
Jamie has wide ranging interest in sports having played football for the Dodges Ferry Sharks, cricket for the Nugent Roosters, and many other social sports over the years.
Professionally he has a keen interest in post-operative rehabilitation for spinal, lower-limb and upper limb surgery and works closely with Tasmania’s Orthopaedic surgeons. He also has a strong interest in Sports Physiotherapy and Workplace Injury Management, to help Tasmanians from all backgrounds achieve their highest possible level of function.

Michael Jamison
SPORTS & MANIPULATIVE PHYSIOTHERAPIST

Michael completed his Physiotherapy Degree in 1983 at Latrobe University and furthered his qualification with Sports and Manipulative Physiotherapy at Curtin University in 1987 and 1989.
Michael has held Team Physiotherapist positions for the Tasmanian Tigers State Cricket Team, North Hobart Football Club, Van Demons State Women’s Hockey team and Hobart Zebras Women’s Football team.
When he’s not caring for athletes, outside of work Michael enjoys recreational road cycling.

Jessie West
SENIOR PHYSIOTHERAPIST
B.Phty. (Hons)
Jessie completed her Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) at Monash University in 2015. After graduating, she returned to Hobart and joined the team at Tas Sports Physio, where she has grown her expertise in injury management, rehabilitation, and prevention.
Jessie has previously worked with sporting teams, such as the Glenorchy District Football Club, but also loves working with people from all different sporting backgrounds and physical activity levels.
She utilizes a variety of treatment modalities, including dry needling, manual therapy, and clinical Pilates, to create personalised treatment plans that promote healing and enhance mobility. Having completed her matwork and equipment clinical Pilates training through APPI, Jessie integrates these techniques to support her patients in achieving optimal recovery and long-term well-being, and currently offers 1:1 clinical Pilates sessions.
Outside of work Jessie enjoys spending time with her young family and friends, attending Pilates classes and drinking coffee

Pat Hutton
PHYSIOTHERAPIST
B.Phty., B.App.Sc (Exercise and Sport Science)
Patrick completed his Bachelor of Physiotherapy at Australian Catholic University in 2023 having also completed a Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science at RMIT.
During his earlier years in competitive elite sailing, Patrick’s interest in Physiotherapy was inspired by his personal experiences working with Sports Physiotherapists as part of the Australian Sailing International 470 Talent Identification program.
Outside of work, Patrick’s sporting history also includes playing for the Tasmanian State U/18 Hockey Team, many years of playing hockey with OHA Hockey Club in Tasmania and Hawthorn Hockey Club in Victoria. Pat is a Physio for the OHA Premier League Men’s Hockey Team. You may also spot him sailing on the Derwent and volunteering at the RYCT as a lifelong sailor, coach and instructor or out road cycling.
